Join PIIAC & RMIIA Under the Dome - 2012 P&C Insurance Day at the State Capitol
In 2011, many of you helped make history by showing up in droves for P&C Insurance Day at the Colorado State Capitol. With more than 200 attendees it was the industry's largest turnout at the Statehouse.
PIIAC and the Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association (RMIIA) hope to build on that momentum and again fill the halls of the Capitol to make our industry presence and influence known to legislators on March 8, 2012. With all the Colorado House seats and half of the Senate seats up for grabs, your leadership is critical heading into this pivotal election year!

Scholarships Available for Young Agents
The Big “I” Legislative Conference & Convention is the industry’s event for educating legislators on issues important to the independent agency system. As usual, PIIAC will be sending a contingent of agents to Washington, D.C., for the April 25-27 event.
It’s important for young agents to be involved in the legislative process because they are the future of the industry. With that in mind, a number of scholarships are available for young agents and first-time attendees from both PIIAC and the Big “I.”
PIIAC annually awards Nabity Scholarships of up to $1,000 for conference expenses to young agents interested in participating in the association’s legislative efforts. The Nabity Scholarship application form can be found here.
In addition, each state association can award up to two $500 scholarships to assist first-time young agent attendees with expenses. Download the state scholarship application here. On the national level, first-time young agent attendees may also apply for the Maurice Herndon Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is presented to one individual in honor of Maurice Herndon, who spearheaded many of the grassroots initiatives that make the Big “I” what it is today. Download the 2012 Maurice Herndon Scholarship application here.
