How to Become A Licensed Agent
1. Take The Class
All Insurance Agents in Georgia must be licensed. The law requires that an applicant must first complete 40 classroom hours of training from an approved provider. This applies to applicants for a Property and Casualty License as well as Life A & S License. At the end of class, a Certificate of Completion is issued. A Certificate of Completion is needed to qualify for state testing. Sponsorship is not required to take the exam. The tests are given by an independent testing service named PearsonVue. 2. Take The Test
Reservations are required for the exam. Call PearsonVUE at (800)-274-0488 for the reservations, directions, and test times. You must give a minimum of three business days notice before the exam date. Cancellations are possible with no penalty with at least four business days notice. For listing of test sites, please click here.
CANCELLATION & NO SHOW POLICY
Registration fees will be refunded in full when written notification is received at least one week (5 business days) prior to the class date. Written notice may be sent by fax or e-mail. Phone calls are not accepted for cancellations of any kind. Cancellations made with less than 5 days notice will receive a credit for another class. Any cancellation made with less than 48 hours notice is considered a "NO SHOW".
No credit or refund will be given for NO SHOWS. All Club Ed Members will be invoiced $10 for each NO SHOW and anyone using a previous credit will forfeit the credit. Credit hours will not be filed with Promissor for anyone in the agency until all fees have been paid. Credits must be used within a calendar year or they will be lost.
