The Big "I" Virtual University is the leading technical insurance and agency management information source in the industry-developed for agents, by agents.
The mission of the Virtual University is to evolve into THE online learning center for the insurance industry. Our philosophy is that no one type or style of learning is appropriate for all individuals or all situations. We believe that a comprehensive approach to online learning involves more than just taking some seminars or self-study materials, throwing them on the internet, and calling them a virtual university.
Therefore, the VU was designed to offer alternative learning formats, ranging from "just-in-time" learning to a more structured program of learning. To satisfy the need for just-in-time learning, we offer both an increasingly comprehensive Research Library and an Ask an Expert service.
For persons who need a more fundamental, or a deeper, approach to a subject, we will be offering a number of online and self-study courses available from no other source. Also, recognizing that some subjects (and people) are better suited for a classroom environment, we will work closely with our state associations to present a comprehensive, nationwide training schedule. If more personalized service is needed, we have an extensive faculty of experts available for in-house training and consulting.
Class On Demand
Purchase of an individual course grants a (90) Day Course License or "Online Access" to the online course material, as well as one exam and one retake, where applicable.
Students taking an online course must be logged in with their own unique login credentials. DO NOT take a course logged in under someone else's login credentials. This is imperative to the proper submission of CE credits.
For students who will not be purchasing the online course themselves, there is a "Purchase For Other User" option available.
An agency Principal, Manager, or HR Director can purchase course(s) to be distributed to other Intended Users.
Members using the Big "I" University sometimes need answers to questions that they can't find in the Research Library, Classrooms or Student Lounge. In such instances, VU has a volunteer faculty of experts who can usually answer, or find an answer, to your questions.
