Bob Harris
KAIA Director of Agency Operations
Robert “Bob” Harris began his insurance career over four decades ago in south Florida. He relocated to Kansas in 1986, and over the years he has gained valuable experience with national companies including Allstate, Hartford and CNA where he was responsible for the hiring, training, managing and development of a number of sales people. In addition to working with the larger companies, Bob has experience with more localized and regional companies having spent time with Davidson-Babcock (MGA—Overland Park) and a personal lines company, Gateway (St. Louis, MO).
Because of his love of training and people development, in the late 1990’s Bob worked part time with Fred Pryor Seminars training participants on skills of communication, customer service, teamwork, performance management, sales management, and negotiating skills. After more than 300 seminars, he has achieved an overall satisfaction score of over 99%. Conducting seminars with clients such as the IRS, Homeland Security, Tacom Ri (Rock Island Arsenal), O’Hare International Airport, Blue Cross Blue Shield, LanChile Airlines and the Associated Press to name a few.
Bob is now the Director of Agency Operations for Agency Services Company of Kansas (AScK), a subsidiary of the Kansas Association of Insurance Agents.
Katie Hobson
KAIA Public Relations Coordinator
Katie joined the insurance industry in January of 2011 as Public Relations Coordinator for the Kansas Association of Insurance Agents (KAIA).
Katie received her BA in English and Religious Studies from the University of Kansas. A love of learning about different cultures and communications has led Katie to become a student of digital tools like social media that break global boundaries.
In her first year with the KAIA, Katie played a key role introducing the KS Trusted Choice Agency App, a customer service application specially designed for independent insurance agencies. She is currently serving on the Agents Council for Technology (ACT) Mobile Strategies Workgroup.
As KAIA’s social media administrator, Katie has more than doubled the fan base for KAIA’s Facebook and Twitter profiles. She also is KAIA’s website administrator and has worked with her team to increase overall traffic, and most notably, increasing pages per visit, average duration, and lowering the site bounce rate.
