The CRM designation Program provides the most practical education avaliable in the field of risk management. Those actively engaged in risk management and related fields who want to acheive high professional standards should participate in this program. It is open to all risk management and insurance professionals regardless of affiliation or professional designation. Attaining the CRM designation requires the successful completion of comprehensive examinations following each course. Once designated, CRMs may satisfy their annual update requirement by attending a CRM course or other approved program.
CRM for CIC: Participants in the Certified Insurance Councelors (CIC) Program can customize their education by substituting one CRM course for one CIC institute.
Each CRM course is a 2 1/2 day program. The five courses are:
Principles of Risk Management
Analysis of Risk
Control of Risk
Financing of Risk
Practice of Risk Management

In 1999, the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokes of America (IIABA) and IIABA Associations partnered with the Institues to revise the Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) designation program and to develop its national examinations. The IIABA, the largest independent insurance agents association, confers the ACSR designation.
More than 13,000 ACSR designations have now been coferred on agency cunsotmer service representatives and other agency personnel over the past 11 years making it the largest CSR training in the country.
The ACSR program is the only designation program of its kind offereing three flexible study options:
1. Classroom
2. Self-Study
3. Online Study
The ACSR Program leads to a designation in personal insurance, commercial insurance, or life and health. You can choose the track most appropriate for your needs or complete all three tracks. For each designation track, you must complete course work on specified modules and pass an exam for each module.

The Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) program is a professional insurance education program designed for experienced insurance practitioners. The courses in the nine-part program cover a broad range of insurance, risk management, and general business topics, building on a foundation of ethical principles and systematic analysis of insurance contracts. Insurance and risk management principles are applied to the treatment of personal and commercial loss exposures, and more than 50 insurance policies are analyzed in detail. The operational functions performed by insurers in providing insurance protection are examined in depth.
The CPCU program is recommended for experienced insurance personnel who have a strong knowledge of insurance practices and have studied the insurance principles that underlie these practices. Earning the CPCU designation requires passing nine national examinations and meeting the Related Studies requirement, as well as having a minimum of three years’ experience in the insurance business and agreeing to abide by the American Institute for CPCU’s Code of Professional Ethics. This three-course program is appropriate for both new and experienced insurance producers and agency principals, and experienced customer service representatives. It is aimed at producers and has relevance for all insurance production personnel in any distribution system. The AAI program is designed to acquaint the student with the coverages that generate the majority of most agencies’ premium volume. It addresses technical knowledge of insurance products (coverage provisions), market knowledge of those who buy insurance (client needs), and how to manage the producer’s office operations to facilitate sales and improve agency profitability.
