Certified Insurance Service Representative

The CISR  Program is a nationally recognized designation program designed to serve the practical needs of customer service representatives, newly licensed producers, company personnel, and those who wish to refresh their product knowledge. There are nine, one-day courses that focus on understanding exposures and coverages. Each course is followed by a comprehensive one-hour exam.

Anyone may attend classes without taking the exam, however, to earn the CISR designation, you must complete any five of the nine courses and pass the five exams within three calendar years of passing the first exam (for example: if you pass your first CISR exam in June 2012, you must pass five exams by December 31, 2015). Then, to keep your designation, you must be a dues-paid member of the Society and update each year with additional continuing education courses offered by The National Alliance.

CISR courses are offered in convenient locations throughout the state. One-day sessions offer minimal time away from the office and the low fee includes tuition, class notebook, lunch and refreshments. The designation is awarded by officials of the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives at conferment ceremonies during MAIA's Small Agency Conference.
