IIAM COMMITTEES
To accomplish the goals and objectives of the IIAM board of directors, the following standing committees were formed:
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: Consists of the IIAM President, President-Elect, Vice-President, Immediate Past President, National Director, and PRIM Vice-President. The purpose of the Executive Committee is to monitor and guide the functions of the staff, set fiscal policy and make sure the organization is maintained according to corporate bylaws.
IIAM LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE & IIAM CONSUMER/GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS INFORMATION COUNCIL: This IIAM committee, along with the IIAM lobbyist, are responsible for the association's legislative effort and communication with state and national government offices as well as interested groups on issues of importance to the IIAM members.
This committee is active in staying abreast of all proposed, existing and suspected legislation and produces the only weekly legislative update bulletin in Montana. The committee can also draft legislation that is of importance to the IIAM membership and Montana insurance consumers. The committee remains active in off-legislative years to ensure constant awareness of issues of importance to the Montana insurance industry.
The committee and lobbyist are active on many advisory groups and boards, some of which are listed below. The committee also plans and executes the biannual IIAM "Legislative Road Show" where IIAM members and their legislators meet with the IIAM lobbyist.

IIAM AWARDS COMMITTEE: Coordinates the distribution of the annual IIAM awards ballots and selection of award recipients to be presented at the annual convention.
IIAM HISTORIAN: Appointed by the IIAM President and works with the IIAM staff to produce an annual historian's report to be presented to the general membership at the annual IIAM convention.
INSURPAC: This committee is chaired by J. Perry Wolfe, Wolfe-Daniels Insurance, Scobey, Montana. The committee communicates with the IIABA and conducts a membership drive in Montana in January of each year with continuing efforts throughout the year.
AGENCY ADVOCACY COMMITTEE: Reviews membership services, programs, or benefits that may be of interest to the membership and assesses the possibility of the association assisting the membership in this area.
TECHNICAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE: Collects technical items from the membership and presents these items at the ISO Technical Conference Committee. Keeps informed and provides technical item reports and articles to be printed in TAGS.
COMPANY/AGENCY RELATIONS COMMITTEE: Works with independent agency system companies on behalf of IIAM membership. Strives to improve relations and communications between companies and the association. Works for improved products and services to the members and clients of IIAM members.
IIAM INDEPENDENT INSURANCE AGENT JUNIOR CLASSIC COMMITTEE (IIAJC): Organizes local IIAM members to provide a local qualifying tournament for golfing youth and to submit the qualifiers to the state tournament. The IIAJC organizes and operates the state tournament. The Chairman accompanies the top two qualifiers to the National IYC. The Chairman provides a written and oral report to IIAM regarding state and national activities.
AD HOC TASK FORCES: Created as needed such as: IIAM Crop and Hail Task Force, IIAM Young Agents Committee. The IIAM Crop Hail Task Force was formed by the IIAM President to monitor the situation with the Montana State Hail Board.
