U.S. Congress
IIABA is renowned for its effectiveness on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. and continues to be recognized as one of Washington's top lobbying groups. Backed by a formidable grassroots program made up of 6,500 key contact agents, IIABA has played a role in shaping legislation in areas including insurance regulation, crop insurance, tax reform, and health/managed care reform. IIABA’s government affairs team works on a bipartisan basis—through lobbying, hands-on grassroots activities and media outreach—to educate lawmakers on legislative issues critical to independent insurance agents and brokers.
