Group Benefits, Ltd./United Professionals Agency Life & Health Products

Diversify Your Business – The Easy Way!
IIAN Members Now Have Preferred-Status Access To Life & Health Products, Marketing Support

For several years, industry experts have been telling P&C agencies to diversify at least 25% of their business into non-property and casualty lines.   This is easily said, but hard to do -- until now!  IIAN’s Life & Health market partners – United Professionals Agency (UPA) and Group Benefits Ltd. (GBL), -- offer Big “I” members “preferred-status” access to a wide range of life, annuity, and disability products, as well as employee benefits, individual and senior health, and dental insurance.  Both companies provide customized marketing support.

United Professionals Agency (UPA), a national marketer headquartered in Lincoln, provides IIAN members with preferred-status access to the best life, annuity, and disability products you can offer your customers.   United Professionals’ top national contracts, with some of the premier companies in the industry, allow them to provide IIAN members with contracts which may be even better than you currently have.

Did you know that if you write just one life case per month with an average premium of $3,000 annually at 80% first-year commission, you would make $2,400 per month?  That’s an extra $28,800 per year for just writing one case per month!  Here are some more actual cases written through UPA:

  • Wealth Transfer:  80-year old female for $1,000,000 Universal Life – Annual Premium $66,202, 1st Year Commission $52,962
  • Long-Term Protection:  60-year old male for $250,000 Universal Life, Death Benefit Guarantee – Premium $286/Month, 1st Year Commission $3,710
  • Cash Accumulation/Long-Term Protection:  45-year old male for $250,000 Indexed Universal Life – Premium $270/Month, 1st Year Commission $2,598

You can do it too, with UPA’s help!
If you have life and annuity quotas which currently need to be satisfied with certain companies, United Professionals can help you produce far more – easily and efficiently.  They can help you develop your current book of business, as well as develop new business.  United Professionals will come to your office and assist you, or help by telephone.  They are also available for joint sales appointments.

Features:

  • $1 million, $2 million, $3 million and $5 million limits available
  • Three rating tiers: Preferred, Standard, and Standard II
  • Underlying policies can be written through different companies
  • No volume requirements

  • Reduced minimum underlying limits available for risks that do not have any youthful (under age 22) drivers in the household.
  • Provides coverage worldwide

RLI In-Home Business Policy

The RLI In-Home Business Policy (IBP) is a stand-alone policy developed for people who operate businesses from their homes.  The IBP offers more coverage than standard homeowners endorsements for a much lower price than a traditional BOP (as low as $150) and over 100 classes of businesses can be covered.  Medical payments and business interruption protection are two key fringe benefits to this niche product as well as the optional coverages available.

Because very few companies provide coverage for an in-home business on a stand-alone basis, the RLI IBP gives agents the flexibility to offer much needed business protection to in-home entrepreneurs regardless of homeowner policy carrier.

Features:

  • Up to $1 million business liability protection
  • Up to $5,000 per person for medical payments to customers and vendors injured on premises
  • Business interruption coverage included automatically
  • $250 deductible
  • Comprehensive coverage for business personal property, with theft coverage included.  Business personal property coverage with a $5,000 limit is automatic for both on-premises and while the property is temporarily off-premises.
  • Optional coverages are available for: money & securities, electronic data processing equipment, additional insureds, and business personal property in excess of $5,000 (identical limits for on-premises and off-premises provided)
  • No volume requirements

To write RLI business, your agency must have a sub-agent number, be appointed by RLI Insurance, and maintain a minimum E&O limit of $1 million.  Contact the IIAN office at 800-377-3985 to obtain a complete packet.

A&M Excess & Umbrella Program

The A&M Personal Excess Program (PEP) is a stand-alone policy written in the standard market.  It does not require that the underlying policies be underwritten by A&M.  This personal umbrella may be written over automobile, personal liability, watercraft, recreational vehicles, and underlying umbrellas at a very reasonable price.  Also the A&M PEP can be written to cover apartment buildings, vacant land, and farm land.

Features:

  • $1 million and $2 million limits available - usually without special underwriting
  • $3 million, $4 million, $5 million, and $10 million limits are available with company approval and underwriting
  • $20 million limits are available under special circumstances with special rating
