IIABA  Retirement Services

IIABA Retirement Program

The IIABA IRA Program allows independent agents to contribute up to $3,000 in tax-deductible (or non-deductible) contributions a year, plus $500 for those age 50 or over.  There are nine carefully selected, attractive, brand-name mutual funds to chose from, discounted administrative fees for members, no minimum balance requirements, no front-end or back-end sales charges, no restrictions on transfers between investment options, and no market rate adjustments for transfers between funds.

IIABA Roth IRA Program

The Roth IRA has all of the great program features and investment options as the IIABA IRA.  In addition, it allows participants to contribute up to $3,000 a year after-tax, accumulate money tax-free that can be withdrawn tax free after five years and age 59 1/2, to withdraw contributions without penalty for the first home purchase and higher education, and it allows you to pass your Roth IRA account on to your heirs income tax free.

IIABA Educational IRA Program

The Education IRA was designed to allow parents and grandparents to set aside $3,000 in after-tax money per year per child for higher education expenses.  Like the Roth, the Education IRA accumulates tax-free and can be withdrawn tax-free - but it shield in the child's name for college expenses and must be distributed by the time the child turns 30.  It is not currently subject to the "gift tax" limits and it features the same outstanding program benefits as the IIABA IRA.

IIABA SIMPLE IRA Program

Small employers can now sponsor a Simple IRA for their employees - through the IIABA SIMPLE IRA Program.  The SIMPLE IRA allows an employee to save $8,000 in tax-deferred contributions annually plus $500 if age 50 or over, in addition to the employer's contribution.  Employers can choose whether to make a 3% matching contribution for participating employees or make a 2% non-elective contribution for every employee in the agency -- regardless of whether or not they choose to make their own contributions.  There are no front-end or back-end sales charges.

IIABA  Simplified Employee Pension Program (SEP)

The IIABA Simplified Employee Pension Program (SEP) allows employers to make a greater annual contribution to their employees' retirement savings.  An agency tax-deductible contribution up to 25% of income may be made for any plan year.  A SEP allows employers more flexibility in participation, because they can exclude employees who have not worked at the company for three of the last five years or who do not earn at least $400 per year.  IIABA's SEP Program also requires very little administration and can be operated at little cost.

IIABA SIMPLE 401(K) Program

Any agency with one to one hundred employees can sponsor a new type of affordable 401(k) plan -- the IIABA SIMPLE 401(k) Program.  There are no deferred sales charges, no front-end or surrender charges, no market adjustments for transfers between funds, and no restrictions on transfers among the investment options.  The IIABA SIMPLE 401(k) Program allows employers two options for making contributions.  The employer can automatically contribute 2% for each employee earning at least $5,000, in addition to the employee's voluntary contributions of up to $8,000, plus $1,000 if age 50 or over.  Or the employer can make a 100% match for the first 3% of the employee's salary if she or he is making contributions.  The SIMPLE 401(k) Program can also have a loan feature.

IIABA Full Service 401(K) Program

The IIABA 401(k) Program allows participants to save even more - up to $12,000 annually, plus $2,000 if age 50 or over.  IIABA's full-service 401(k) plan is a one-stop comprehensive savings vehicle that can be customized to meet specific goals.  Twelve investment options are available to help participants achieve their retirement goals.  Best of all, the total annual administrative costs for the program are extremely reasonable and the program has no front-end or back-end sales charges or market adjustments for transfers among investment options.

IIABA   Safe Harbor 401(K) Program

The IIABA Safe Harbor 401(K) Program allows employees to save the lesser of 20% of pay or $12,00 plus $2,000 if age 50 or over annually.  The agency is required to make a 3% of pay contribution, or alternatively, a dollar-for-dollar match of the employee's contribution, up to 4% of their pay.  The Safe Harbor 401(k) has thirteen investment choices without front-end or back-end sales charges and can have a loan provision (if desired.)
