Earn the Farm and Agribusiness Insurance Designation (AFIS)

The Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska and Agency Management Resource Group will be offering the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) designation during the Agribusiness Conferences.

The AFIS Designation is designed to provide a professional development program for the farm insurance specialist. This three-part course will provide the tools to work effectively and proactively with the agribusiness client. The core of each AFIS segment will focus on understanding the client’s operation; analyzing the insurance risks; identifying the insured’s vulnerabilities; and structuring the insurance and non-insurance solutions.

AFIS 1 topics discussed are: Farm Property, Farm Property Endorsements, Farm Liability, and Farm LiabilityEndorsements.

AFIS Part 2 topics include: Farm/Ag Risk Management, Farm Auto & Truck Exposures, Workers' Compensation/MWA, and Umbrellas and Excess.

AFIS Part 3 topics are: Ag Pollution, Equipment Breakdown, Farm Inland Marine, Livestock & Animal Mortality, Crime, Management Liability, and Crop Overview.

Participants may take the AFIS classes in any order.  Participants may enroll in the classes without sitting for the exam. However the exam is necessary to earn the AFIS designation.  The exam is administered online after the conference.

Most conferences are approved for up to 15 CE Credits in 45 states.
