Over 7,000 bills are introduced each Legislative Session in both the New Jersey State Assembly and Senate. Several hundred of these bills directly affect the insurance industry, insurance consumers, or small businesses.
IIABNJ's Government Affairs Committee reviews all proposed legislation, educates legislators on the effect of the legislation, testifies at Committee Hearings, and makes sure that the interests of consumers, members, and the industry are represented and protected. Additionally, the associaiton develops and proposes legislative ideas, when necessary, to improve the insurance marketplace for New Jersey consumers and businesses, and to assist our members.
All current, detailed information, including copies of the bill, is located on the NJ State Legislature Website. Should you need information on any new session bill, and are unable to locate that information on the state website, contact IIABNJ at 609-587-4333.
