The Trusted Choice Big 'I' Junior Championship (formerly IIAJC) began in 1969 and remains one of junior golf's major annual events. Each year, thousands of junior boys and girls compete in local and state qualifying events nationwide to earn a spot in the final, national 72 hole, stroke-play tournament. Several of today's current PGA stars have played in this event during their youth, including: Craig Stadler, Fuzzy Zoeller, Casey martin, David Duval, Hale Irwin, Phil Michelson, Justin Leonard, Bobby Clampett, Cristie Kerr, Grace Park, Bob Tway, Bill Andrade, and Tiger Woods.
The tournament began as a community service project developed by Independent Insurance Agents. Today, agents, state associations, and industry friends partner to donate valuable time, effort, and personal resources to host successful tournaments.
