In order to serve New Jersey residents and businesses, independent insurance agents need to operate in a viable insurance market where products are available to provide to customers. As part of IIABNJ's advocacy efforts, the association works closely with various insurance companies, trade associations, and coalitions.
Through these relationships, IIABNJ is able to promote legislation and regulations that will enhance the products afforded to consumers throughout the state. IIABNJ's Government Affairs Representative and Committee Members maintain ongoing communications with outside groups to discuss issues of mutual concern. The coordinated effort between IIABNJ and affiliated companies and organizations allow us, as industry leaders, to speak with one voice to the legislature and regulators in order to make sure the needs of independent agents are understood.
