Thursday, March 7
8am - 12 noon - “How to Win Friends & Influence Adjusters” - Too often, formal insurance training programs focus on “here's what's covered” and “here's what's not covered.” Insurance practitioners in the real world quickly learn that often there are no clear-cut answers to coverage questions. Although most insurance claims are straightforward, from the standpoint of coverage, there are many claims where coverage exists (or does not exist) only as a matter of perspective or expectations. The primary purpose of this seminar is to present a structured approach to policy interpretation and claims negotiation. The program focuses on both personal and commercial lines policy provisions that are often in dispute. 4 HRS Approved CE OR/WA
12noon - 1pm - Lunch Buffet
1pm - 3pm - “The Adventures of Ace Insura, Claims Detective” - This is a fun, fast moving class that allows students to play the role of “Ace Insura”, coverage and claims detective. Ace has been solving cases for over 25 years in issues of the Independent Agent (IA) Magazine. Participants will use the tools and materials provided by Ace to solve one insurance mystery after another, then match wits with Ace to see if their insurance policy sleuthing skills measure up to his. Time will fly as you solve these “mysteries”. 2 HRS Approved CE OR/WA
3pm - 5pm - “Cyber Exposures & Insurance” - This two hour class identifies existing and evolving cyber risk exposures, details why traditional insurance products are inadequate to manage these exposures, and outlines potential solutions from ISO standard products and various specialty programs available in the insurance marketplace. KNOWLEDGE OF CYBER LIABILITY EXPOSURES AND COVERAGE IS INCREASINGLY CRITICAL AS COMMERCE MOVES TO A “VIRTUAL” ENVIONMENT! THIS CLASS WILL HELP YOU GET UP TO SPEED ON THIS NEWLY EMERGING ASPECT TO OUR BUSINESS. 2 HRS Approved CE OR/WA
5pm - Hosted Reception
Friday, March 8
8am - 12noon - “Hot Topics For Oregon Agents - Emerging Issues & Catastrophic Coverage Gaps to Avoid” - This program examines commercial and personal lines coverage issues, from little known or unknown policy coverage gaps to important and/or emerging topics and judicial decisions that every agent needs to know. Change comes fast and this class will get students up to speed on current issues. 4 HRS Approved CE OR/WA
12noon - Lunch
Spouses can opt to attend a FREE glass float blowing demonstration, Thursday, March 7 which includes wine and lunch at the Jennifer Sears Glass Art Studio. The first 12 spouses who register can create and blow their own personalized float for FREE to take home. Transportation will be provided.
