Insurance companies, finance companies, technology vendors and other companies who do business with independent agents and brokers can increase their visability with them by becoming an associate membership, being a sponsor or exhibitor at our Annual Conference, or advertising in our quarterly magazine, Big I Washington.
IIABA publishes legal briefs on current regulatory issues (broker disclosure, fair credit reporting act, HIPAA Privacy Regs, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, etc.) and over 100 company/agent contract reviews. The Big I meets locally in Washington state and also with national carriers to discuss agent-company relations and reinforce the value that agents bring to the insurance transaction. Recommendations are made to companies regarding changes that will foster more positive agent-company relations and more productive transactions.
The Big I works closes with insurance companies to help them write contracts that are agent-friendly in areas such as indemnification, ownership of expirations, termination, etc.
