ADVOCACY

The Independent Insurance Agents of Rhode Island (IIARI) has a proud history of providing advocacy on behalf of its’ members since the founding of the Association in 1900. As stated in the IIARI mission statement, the organization exists to promote and protect the members and ultimately the companies they represent and their customers.

IIARI is engaged in advocating for its’ members in interactions with companies, regulators, legislators, and internal and external industry organizations. IIARI maintains an active government affairs operation supported by IIARI PAC.

Advocacy extends government affairs to promoting professionalism and education to keep members on the cutting edge of knowledge and expertise. An independent agent or brokers ability to differentiate themselves from other forms of insurance distribution is the key to long term viability and vitality. Despite predictions of the end of the American Agency System for decades, independent agents still stand tall and strong.

Please familiarize yourself with the other pages within the Advocacy menu to understand the depth and breadth of our advocacy. We invite you to be a part of a dynamic business and an organization dedicated to supporting you and your agency succeed in a competitive marketplace.
