ABOUT THE YOUNG AGENTS COUNCIL

The Young Agents Council (YAC) was formed in order to actively encourage young agents state-wide to:

• Take advantage of the opportunity to develop closer relationships with fellow young agents throughout South Dakota;
• Keep informed of changes in the insurance industry and learn how to implement these changes in our overall Independent Agency System;
• Enhance the image of the Independent Insurance Agents of South Dakota (IIASD) and the Independent Agent System; and
• Participate in young agents activities and to encourage active involvement in the IIASD association.

THE YOUNG AGENTS MISSION STATEMENT

The Young Agents Council will promote involvement of young insurance agents in the Independent Insurance Agents of South Dakota, industry activities, the political process, and their local communities.  The Young Agents Council will develop leadership qualities and act as a source of information to the insurance community.

• To support right principals and sound practices of the business of insurance.
• To aid in the basic and continuing education of young agents in all aspects of the insurance business.
• To encourage, support, and assist young people to enter into the insurance field as independent agents.
• Develop programs to increase awareness of young agent involvement in the industry.

SPONSORED EVENTS

• River Days Conference
  Held each May.  The 2 day event includes a golf outing with agents and company representatives and an entire day of continuing education with informative and interesting speakers.
• Supporters of the IIASD State Convention, Farm & Small Town Agents Conference and Walleye Classic and the Annual Legislative Breakfast in Pierre.
