Below under each group of agency management systems, you will find links to current information on the various real-time interfaces available through these systems, including specific information on the participating carriers and the available transactions. We urge you to check these lists often because both carriers and transactions are being added frequently.
ACT is a strong proponent of these real-time interfaces because they can save significant time for agency employees and permit them to provide service to their customers in real-time. Many of these interfaces can also handle the logon, password, and navigation steps at the carrier electronically, again saving agency employees considerable time.
As the number of real-time interfaces multiplies in terms of numbers of transactions and carriers, independent agents will get closer and closer to their objective of achieving Single Entry, Multiple Company Interface (SEMCI). For us to see continued progress, however, it is critical for independent agents and their employees to implement these real-time interfaces when carriers make them available, so that carriers and vendors understand the importance of them to the agents. Agents should also urge their other carriers and vendors to implement these time saving interfaces and to add additional transactions. The ACT Interface Statement and Interface Talking Points will assist you as you undertake these discussions with your carriers and vendor.
Because of the importance of using download wherever possible to enhance agency efficiency, we also include links to vendor specific information regarding carriers certified for download.
