Eligibility & Requirements:

InVEST Scholarships are available to high school (seniors) and college students currently participating in an InVEST class. Applicants must be pursuing higher education with an emphasis on insurance or a related business field such as finance, marketing etc. In addition, each applicant must submit the following:

  • A completed/signed  2008 InVEST Scholarship Application Form (pdf). (This form grants  InVEST the right to publicize and print any or all of the student’s entry and/or photograph.)
  • At least two different letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, liaisons, mentors, etc.
  • A 500-600 word typewritten essay about the benefits received from InVEST and how the student’s education plans were influenced by the program. Please include details on the following:
    • the benefits of having participated in InVEST
    • plans for further education and how these plans were influenced by InVEST
    • other activities that demonstrate the student’s interests and abilities like academic honor societies, sports, extracurricular activities, internships, after-school jobs, etc.
  • A copy of current school transcript which includes grade point average to date
  • College entrance exam scores
  • A non-returnable photograph (an original class picture preferred, not scanned)

Entries must be received by April 18, 2008 to be eligible.

Entries will be judged on creativity, content, format, grammar, spelling, punctuation and neatness. All entries become property of InVEST. Please mail all entries to: InVEST Scholarship Program, Attn: Amber Williamson, 127 South Peyton Street, 4th Floor, Alexandria, VA 22314.

Instructors of scholarship winners will be notified throughout the end of April and beginning of May. Immediately following, each scholarship winner will receive a formal written notification from the InVEST national office.

InVEST Agent of the Year - The Dach Award


Is your InVEST industry liaison the tops, worthy of praise and recognition? Do you need a little extra cash for your InVEST program? Then we want to remind you of an award that can benefit your InVEST industry liaison and your classroom.

The Dach Award is bestowed upon InVEST industry liaisons dedicated to their InVEST students. To nominate your industry liaison, you must complete a Dach Award Application Form and compose an essay detailing why this liaison should receive the award. Include any classroom materials, photos and letters of recommendation if they reinforce the essay entry.

Please provide the following information in your essay:

  • A description of your nominee’s involvement in the program (i.e. length of time, in what capacity, contributions including volunteer service, financial assistance, recruitment and training
  • Your nominee’s accomplishments including number of students and classrooms served, any scholarships awarded to students, assistance with program development, and future goals set for the program
  • Advocacy on behalf of InVEST including conferences attended or meetings held, company/agency awareness campaigns and public relations, and any internships provided to students.

All Dach Award submissions must be received by March 14, 2008. The winner of the Dach Award will receive a $1,000 cash prize to be used in his or her InVEST classroom. *If multiple winners are selected then the amount of the cash awards will vary. InVEST Teacher of the Year


The InVEST Teacher of the Year award acknowledges an InVEST teacher who has made substantial contributions to his or her InVEST students. For consideration, agent liaisons, state/local agents’ associations or students should complete an  InVEST Teacher of the Year Application Form and compose an essay detailing why this teacher should receive the award. Include any classroom materials, photos and letters of recommendation if they reinforce the essay entry.

Judging will be based on the teacher’s leadership and creativity in the classroom, rapport with students and agents, dedication to the program and students, promotion of the program, and interest in the subject matter. Please include all pertinent details in your essay entry.

All Teacher of the Year entries must be received by March 14, 2008.Our first place winner will receive $500 for use in their InVEST classroom and $500 for personal use.
