Since its founding in 1928 (as the Washington Insurance Club), the Metropolitan Washington Association of Independent Insurance Agents has been dedicated to advocating for its member agencies and the customers they serve.
The association’s mission and purpose is to:

Support right principles and oppose bad practices and unfair competition in the transaction of insurance business;
•
Encourage and promote good business relations;
•
Encourage and promote understanding, education and cooperation among producers and between producers and insurance companies;
•
Endeavor to maintain a high standard of integrity and to promote harmony in the profession in order to serve more effectually the insuring public; and
•
Cooperate with both state and local authorities in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia in the reduction of fire and other losses and in the enforcement and improvement of insurance and surety laws.
