ABOUT IIABI

The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of Idaho (IIABI) formed in 1924, is one the oldest insurance agents trade associations in the state. Approximately 135 agencies -- operated by over 900 agents, brokers, and their employees -- make IIABI the largest agents' trade association in Idaho. In addition to their Regular Membership, IIABI also enjoys the active participation of 60 Associate Members which include the majority of the major insurance companies, general agencies, and suppliers doing business in our state.

IIABI is the Idaho arm of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA), also called the 'Big I'. Now in its second century, IIABA represents a network of over 300,000 agents and their employees, with state organizations in all fifty states. From their headquarters in Alexandria, VA, the national association administers an enormous array of products and services to help member agencies compete in today's ever evolving insurance marketplace. IIABA also maintains an office on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., that is consistently ranked among the top lobby organizations in the country for its unrelenting advocacy on insurance issues. Join the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of Idaho, Inc. IIABI has two membership types available:

• Agency Membership 
  Regular membership is available to any Idaho insurance agency operating under the American Agency System, having one or more licensed insurance agents, and having the legal ability to represent more than one insurance company with the ownership of property/casualty expirations and renewals on a majority of its business.
   
• Associate Company Membership 
  Organizations such as independent insurance companies, MGA's, suppliers or individuals that support the American Agency System may apply for Associate Membership. Associate members shall receive mailings but may not attend corporate meetings nor be entitled to vote or hold office.
