Continuing Education

The Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana, Inc. (IIAI), is the largest provider of insurance education in the state of Indiana. It conducts more than 130 classroom days of continuing education (CE) training programs annually, including commercial and personal property and casualty coverage, errors and omissions loss control, agency management and life and health topics, meeting the varied needs of agents and company personnel. All courses are conducted by highly skilled and experienced insurance professionals. Each continuing education program is filed with the Indiana Department of Insurance. After each CE class, IIAI provides the student with a certificate of completion.

Pre-Licensing Self Study Manuals for Property & Casualty or Life, Accident & Health

Effective January 1, 2000, Indiana law now allows at home self-study to become a licensed producer. We have the self-study manuals for Property & Casualty and/or Life, Accident & Health that have been approved by the Indiana Department of Insurance. Once you have studied the manual and feel you are ready to take the test, you must obtain from IIAI a Certificate of Completion to be taken to the testing site. You may also order an optional Exam Master Disk which randomly asks about 800 questions on Property  & Casualty and around 600 questions on Life, Accident, & Health, which tests your knowledge of the topics similar to the exam questions. This is a great additional self-help tool for studying for the exam.  Click above to get order form.

Kaplan (formerly BiSys)
Members can save 5% by ordering the self-study courses by Kaplan from us. We will place the order for you and have it shipped directly to you via UPS.  Once you have completed the course, open the exam package, take the test and return the exam answer sheet along with the test booklet to IIAI for grading. IIAI will then mail you your CE certificate if a score of 70% or better has been reached. Courses are offered in either Property and Casualty or Life and Health. Just fax the order form to our office to place the order.

IGS
Software packages may be purchased from IGS.  After you have studied the material and taken the final exam, the computer will print out a copy of your exam score.  You then mail the exam score sheets directly to IIAI along with a check for the fee for each exam you take (see the order form for the appropriate fee amount).  IIAI will then mail you a CE certificate providing a score of 70% or better has been reached.  The approved CE hours of some of the courses have been changed to reflect the new rules for computer programs.  To order the software directly with IGS, click here  for the order form.
