Crawfish Feast
March 23, 2011, Knights of Columbus Building, Columbia, Mo.
While not an official part of the Small Agency Conference, this event has become a pre-conference tradition sponsored by MAIA's Young Agents Committee. This informal dinner is an opportunity to relax, get acquainted and enjoy some fine cuisine prepared by the young agents and their friends. For those not into crawfish, the menu also includes smoked meats and various side dishes. Refreshments are also included. Small Agency Conference
March 24-25, 2011, Holiday Inn, Columbia, Mo.
This annual conference, which began in 1990, is designed to meet the unique education and networking needs of small to mid-sized agencies—agencies that write a lot of small accounts, and not as many large commercial accounts. Consequently, these agencies come from both metropolitan as well as small towns and rural areas. Includes a trade show with nearly 100 companies exhibiting, timely education programs, CIC and CISR conferment ceremonies, and various opportunities for networking, and much company involvement. This event is traditionally held in Columbia, Mo.

Our 2010 Small Agency Conference featured keynote speaker D.J. Harrington. There were 361 agents in attendance (including wholesalers) and once again, we had a record-breaking 96 companies with exhibit booths. Young Agents Conference
June 5-7, 2011, The Landing, Van Buren
This conference combines compelling learning experiences mixed with delightful networking and social events designed especially for young agents and new producers. This event also features a golf tournament.

The 2010 conference, held June 6-8, at Tan-Tar-A Resort, Osage Beach, Mo., was a hit with 41 agents in attendance, as well as plenty of company representatives and family members. We saw a lot of new faces and are looking forward to an even more enthusiastic Young Agent's Committee as more people become active. Keynote speaker Brian Holman held the audience's attention with his motivational presentation, and the education sessions were also well received. Banquet highlights included the presentation of AIP designations to the Elite Force Sales Training School graduates and the presentation of "Young Agent of the Year" to Steve Naught, Naught-Naught Insurance Agency, Osage Beach. Leadership Conference
July 20-22, 2011, Tan-Tar-A Resort, Osage Beach
This event is designed for "any insurance professional who guides the insurance career of another. Networking and educational opportunities combine to create energy and enthusiasm during every event on the agenda.

The 2010 conference, held July 21-23, at The Lodge of Four Seasons, Lake Ozark, drew great attendence, with more than 500 registrants in all. With the continued development of the Best Practices platform for the education sessions, conference goers had access to three high-quality management sessions led by industry experts Chris Amrhein and Steve Anderson. The keynote speech from William Bennett proved to be both insightful and entertaining. The holiday-themed Block Party and Strolling Dinner, the Awards and Installation Banquet, and the legislative and regulatory session, Eggs and Issues, all helped to round out an excellent conference. Visit our Facebook page to see photos.
